Homeside meeting in Melbourne 4-6 February
For the Homeside team’s first 2020 meeting, members travelled from the UK, Germany, Poland and Norway to meet in Melbourne, Australia from 4-6 February. This meeting was held in the University of Melbourne’s new Ian Potter Southbank Centre.
On the first day of the meeting representatives from each country took the opportunity to update the team on progress, and action items from Cambridge were reviewed. The team received a summary of learnings from Homeside’s pilot project, new business was added to the agenda, and the team celebrated a productive day with a dinner in one of Melbourne’s famous laneways.
On the second day of the meeting, the team addressed topics relating to recruitment, and welcomed the Melbourne team’s Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) group for a light lunch to meet the international team. A number of PPI members stayed to attend the afternoon’s PhD student presentations and contributed to the discussion.
On the third and final day of the meeting, the team welcomed Karen Lamb, a biostatistician and Senior Research Fellow with the University of Melbourne (UoM) to present a data analysis plan for Homeside. In the afternoon we divided into smaller groups to develop a number of special projects relating to Homeside, and welcomed input from other experts across UoM in these discussions.
